The much loved Vogue Italian editor Franca Sozzani has passed away on thursday in Milan, Italy. After a year-long illness. She was 66 years old. During her 28 year at the helm of Vogue Italia. In a letter published on the Vogue Italia website, Condé Nast, wrote: “This is the saddest news I have ever had to report to you.” Said that she died with her son Francesco by her side.
I am shocked by this sad news. A woman who has really changed fashion .. The fashion that few people understand even if they work in this area. “Fashion was no longer a succession of dresses and coats, but a “concept ” much deeper. Franca it’s one of the women who most inspired me. The world of fashion has lost a incredible creative genius woman, I really appreciated her vision. Franca take care of issues on fashion’s weight debate, plastic surgery and racism. She been rebel in her great way of editor Vogue, risked how she has said in the past to be three times fired. “I am a panther fighting” She used to say.
Two week leater she was win the Swarovski Award for Positive Change at the British Fashion Council . Award for having positively influenced the world of fashion. Her last speech to the young w as impressed and moved me, by this world. ” To change you have to take risks and you have to find someone to support you”. From Video British Fashion Council.
“We’ve got to be patient with young talents”, a great lesson by Franca Sozzani at our Summit (June 2016).
“The talent is in your real strength”.
I will miss Franca’s passion for beauty, art, elegance and her dedication to young talent and to evriting about the culture on fashion and life. Slim and smart, with the innate elegance dress she were always a bit ahead of everyone.
